| La Val Noci si trova nel comune di Montoggio, in Alta Valle Scrivia nell'entroterra di Genova. I suoi monti, in alcuni dei quali c'è l'itinerario lungo l'Alta Via dei Monti Liguri, fanno da contorno al lago artificiale costruito sul rio Noci tra il 1924 e il 1930.
Val Noci is situated in the municipality of Montoggio, in High Scrivia valley in the hinterland of Genoa. Its mountains, some of which is the route along the Liguria Mountains High Way trek, surround the artificial lake built on the Rio Noci between 1924 and 1930. The slopes of some mountains such as Bano mount (1035 m) have different villages Noci, Campoveneroso, Feto, Caiasca, Veixe, Brugosecco, Fontana, Veixe, Monte Bano, Ciappa, Teitin and other minor ones. They are all quite similar typical the typical structural characteristics of these areas with two-storey houses where the ground floor you can find a stable and the a kitchen and upstairs the other rooms. Several have a deposit under the roof where they were storing supplies or were used as a drying area for chestnuts or other products of the earth. Once they were inhabited by many families and now they are abandoned or inhabited only in some cases by one or two people. Almost all of them have never been reached by a road and they can be reached by hiking, mule, and in some cases you can have a terrain road suitable only by off road vehicles.
